Dee Dee's Story
I have 2 sons, Justin (36) and Lance (29) and 4 grand children. After high school I went to work at North Island in their technical library and went through their Mechanical Engineering Program. I left in 1978 when I had my first son. Stayed home a few months then went to work for a defense contractor for another 9 years. Spent 50% of my time in the East Coast (mostly in Wash DC). I was layed off so I went to work on the Bush/Quayle campaign. I also worked on the Reagan/Bush campaign. I worked for Congressman Duncan Hunter for 1 yr., left then worked for Congressman Duke Cunningham for 5 yrs., left then worked for Mayor Susan Golding for 3 years, left then went to work for County Supervisor Ron Roberts. Now in my 3rd career I work for Viejas Enterprises as a Community Relations Manager. I have enjoyed myself all along the...Expand for more
way. I was actually given a Presidential appointment to the Pentagon. I watched the movie "No Way Out" with Kevin Costner, quit and came right back home. It was great to get away from all the craziness. I have now been with Viejas for almost 8 years and I love my job. I work with events sponsorships, special projects for the tribe, a little bit of political, lots of golf tournaments (although,I don't really know how to golf), lots of dinners, receptions, festivals, concerts, travel as far as Imperial Valley, Mexicali, Tecate, and Tijuana (although, I haven't been to Mexico in a couple of years). I work a lot of 7am to 10pm days. In my sparetime I get to sleep or spend time with my granddaughter. I love nights in my pjs watching Lifetime or an old Western, or cooking. Some day if I ever retire I would like to write a book.
